Surf’s up and roaring at the BCBG Max Azria fashion show. Despite the downpour outside Skylight at Moynihan Station, BCBG transported everyone to a vivid, groovy and fun place reminiscent of the Southern California lifestyle. The bright colors and Aztec prints combined with the flowy shapes and bucket hats made the collection feel like there were so many pieces that you could easily wear and combine with your spring wardrobe. In addition to the colors and prints, there was also a lot of different textures and layering. Everything from girly ruffles to pastel leg warmers, something for whichever kind of girl you wanted to exude for Spring 2016.
I already spotted a fave on the runway. The sleeves and the print of this dress had Sherece written all over it! Watching the model glide down the runway to the Rolling Stones – “You can’t always get what you want” triggered an immediate I WANT THIS DRESS impulse!
After the show, I caught up with Quad Webb-Lunceford from Bravo Tv’s Married to Medicine to ask her about her about her experience as being a brand contributor for BCBG Max Azria. Quad describes the brand as “youthful, fun, yet sophisticated and cutting edge without being too trendy.” Her favorite aspect of her position is “being able to utilize her influence to shed more light on the brand itself.” Much unlike the “hot-tomali” we see on Bravo TV, she was very approachable, easy to talk to and beautifully dressed in the Isidora dress from the BCBG Runway collection.
For the show, I wore the “Adna ” skirt suit available in stores now. Matching sets, popularly called coords have been a big trend for 2015. This outfit just hit BCBG stores the day before the show, so it was the perfect way for me to attend the show in style. I love the length and shape of the skirt, and the pockets are so big and roomy inside without appearing bulky. My purse was on the smaller side, so I had my whole life inside these pockets, and no-one knew, lol!
This is only Day 1 of fashion week, and so far it’s been a fun and exciting one, with a very promising Spring/Summer 2016 forecast. The rain could not stop this parade of fashion. xoxoSB
